Garvey Accuses Schiff of Lying to All Americans

(RightWing.org) – When the classic novel “The Scarlet Letter” was penned, the large A symbolized shame. If the story was set in 21st-Century America, many would view it as a badge of honor, especially as one moves farther Left along the political spectrum.

Unabashed Liar

While there are pockets of Red within the state of California, overall it represents a Blue so deep that one could liken it to the void between stars in the nighttime sky. In a recent debate amongst those who are vying to become one of the state’s two senators (the primary election is not split between the parties, all compete at the same time), Republican hopeful and former infielder for both the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Steve Garvey, took aim at one of his Democrat opponents.

Garvey’s target was current House of Representatives heavyweight Congressman Adam Schiff, whom he accused of lying to 300 million people. He reminded the man whose vitriol towards former President Donald Trump knows no bounds, that he had been censured by the very body in which he serves.

On June 21, 2023, Congress officially reprimanded Schiff for promoting the Leftist disinformation campaign first conceived in an effort to overturn Trump’s 2016 win over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. One of the more flagrant examples came during his time leading the first impeachment attempt against the ex-president when he knowingly lied during a hearing on September 26, 2019.

On this occasion, Schiff read “a false retelling” of a conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The House also took the congressman to task for spreading the false narrative that Trump and his staff colluded with Russia, and for his memo, which assured (dishonestly) the world that neither the FBI nor the Department of Justice lied on the application presented to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Court for a wiretap warrant on Trump associate Carter Page.

One might think that someone in a position of high trust would be contrite and apologetic in his response to Garvey’s reprimand. One would be wrong. Schiff’s response to the reminder of the censure was in equal parts direct and frightening, “… you know something, I would do it all over again.” As Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has said on numerous occasions, the aim of the Democrats was (and is) “undoing the election results of 2016 and… the 2020 presidential election. Nothing more, nothing less.”

It could be argued that one of the unfortunate aspects of the human condition is the inability to recognize irony within oneself, especially as one becomes more convinced that their position of power presumes that their end ALWAYS justifies the means. In this case, the Democrats are assailing President Trump with indictments in a boldfaced attempt to keep him off of the Republican 2024 presidential ticket for what they pretend was election interference. Then again, after their efforts in 2016 and beyond, the old schoolyard taunt of “it takes one to know one,” comes to mind.
