White House Uses Fictional Presidents to Promote SOTU

(RightWing.org) – The president’s communications team typically creates a video mocking the current administration during the annual White House Correspondents Dinner. For some inexplicable reason, this year the White House Office of Digital Strategy produced a bizarre clip using fictional presidents to promote President Joe Biden’s State of the Union (SOTU) address — as if the nation’s current state of decay is something to laugh about.

On March 7, President Joe Biden proudly posted the nearly four-minute spoof on his X/Twitter account. He prefaced it by telling users he decided to “hear from some folks” who had served as president — “sort of” — about his so-called “big speech.”

The video began with Biden speaking with Morgan Freeman, who played President Tom Beck in the 1988 science fiction thriller, “Deep Impact.” Morgan related that all he had to deal with during his time in the Oval Office was a potential meteor strike. He suggested Biden stress “hope” as a theme for his SOTU speech, telling him it’s “the strongest force we have in this country.”

Several other Hollywood actors and one actress appeared in the clip, offering their take on the actual president’s speech. They included Tony Goldwyn (President Fitzgerald Grant, “Scandal”), Bill Pullman (President Thomas J. Whitmore, “Independence Day” and “Independence Day: Resurgence”), Michael Douglas (President Andrew Shepherd, “The American President”), and Geena Davis (President Mackenzie Allen, “Commander in Chief”).

Ironically, Biden’s poorly conceived video may have served as the highlight of the day — at least for him. His SOTU address turned out to be a disappointing speech aimed at attacking the good reputation of his political rival, former President Donald Trump.

Biden managed to stun attendees when he referred to slain Georgia nursing student Laken Riley as “Lincoln” on two separate occasions. You might recall that her February murder at the hands of an illegal immigrant stirred up controversy for weeks.

In another instance, the father of a fallen Marine heckled Biden as the president was attempting to convince the chamber that America is safer now than it was when he took office. The Capital Police quickly escorted him out of the chamber and placed him under arrest. The New York Post later reported that law enforcement officials probably released him after forcing the Gold Star parent to pay a small fine.
