Illegal Alien Felon Killed Child – Served Only 16 Months

(RightWing.org) – There can be little doubt that the open-door policies of President Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama, and other Democrats represent a clear and present danger to the United States. Sometimes they reach across the entire country and at other times they may affect only one family. What many Americans may be unaware of is the fact that not all illegal aliens in the nation are from Mexico or Central and South America, they can be from any country around the world.

Roadway Menace

On February 23, 2019, the parents of eight-year-old Maverick Martzen found out just how horrifying the lax policies and the ignorant so-called sanctuary schemes can be. On that fateful day, illegal alien, Indian national Karmjit Singh, blew through a stop sign in suburban Selma, California (Fresno County) while driving his brother Parminder’s BMW at a speed estimated to be over 100 MPH, striking and killing the boy.

Police at the time believed that Singh was impaired by alcohol when the crash occurred, but he refused a breathalyzer test. Law enforcement officers were unable to get evidence showing that he was under the influence before the deadline for his arraignment. Records show that he already had a prior conviction from 2016 for driving under the influence (DUI, sometimes known as DWI or OVI in other jurisdictions), and it appears even this did not make a suitable impression.

Even though Singh was eventually convicted after entering a nolo contendere (the criminal version of “no contest”) plea to a felony charge of “Vehicular Manslaughter W/Gross Negligence.” He was sentenced to six years in prison — but served far less than that — serving about 16 months instead.

Even though the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) had issued a detainer notification asking to be told of any release of Singh, the series of laws signed by California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom designating the state as a “sanctuary” for illegal aliens forbade agencies and courts from releasing that information.

Capitol Hill

Since being released in 2022, Karmjit Singh has been arrested on at least two more DUI charges; one in Fresno County, and the other in Tulare County where he initially used identification showing him to be Parmenter Singh. This time, at least he is being held without bond, and his record would seem to identify him as the prototypical offender that would be covered under a recent bill passed by the United States House of Representatives.

H.R.6976, the Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act, would prevent new immigrants convicted of/admitting to DUI-related acts from entering the US and would make a conviction for those already in the country a deportable offense. When the measure came up for a vote on the chamber floor, 150 Democrats voted against it, including names that nobody should be surprised to read.

Democrat Representatives Rashida Tlaib (MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a.k.a. AOC (NY), and Adam Schiff (CA) were among those casting a “nay” vote. The congresswoman from Minnesota issued a press release that somehow tries to twist the measure into something “used to incite anti-Arab, anti-Palestinian, and in the Muslim hatred [and] hateful Trump-era immigration policies.” If nothing else, she proves she knows how to push buttons to inflame her faction.
