WWII Vet BURSTS Into Tears – Reveals Why He’s Crying.
(RightWing.org) – A 100-year-old former US Marine has blasted the state of the country. In an emotionally charged interview, the WWII veteran told a local Fox News outlet that America is “going to hell in a handbasket.” Sadly, the old warrior feels the sacrifices he and his fellow service members made were in vain.
During an interview on his 100th birthday, June 29, former USMC Sergeant Carl Spurlin Dekel said the US is no longer the country he and his comrades fought to protect. He said Americans don’t what they have, and complain about their lives — even though his friends died fighting for their freedom. He told Fox13 in Tampa Bay that the country is no longer the same as it was when his parents raised him, saying, “that’s not what [service members] died for.”
Dekel, who won a Silver Star for bravery in WWII, fought in the brutal Guadalcanal campaign in 1942 and 1943. Over 7,000 allied troops died clearing the mountainous, heavily forested island of its fanatical Japanese occupiers. However, despite the hell he endured as a Marine and his fears for the future of the US, he remains positive about life. He tells the interviewer he’s led a good life and that he believes “in this whole world, that everything is beautiful.” He ended the interview by urging viewers to “enjoy everything you possibly can.”
