Tulsi Gabbard Announces Why She’s Leaving the Democrat Party
(RightWing.org) – A former Democratic presidential candidate has sensationally quit the party. Tulsi Gabbard called the Democrats an “elitist cabal” and accused the party of racism. Now she’s walking away — and calling on other Dems to follow.

On October 11, Gabbard, who has part-Samoan ancestry and was the first Hindu member of Congress, announced that she had left the Democratic Party. Gabbard has been a Democratic politician since she was elected to the Hawaii House of Representatives in 2002. She went on to serve on Honolulu City Council, then was elected to the US House of Representatives for four terms.
Gabbard ran unsuccessfully for the Democrat nomination in 2020, fighting back against accusations from Hillary Clinton that she was a “Russian asset.” Since then, she’s become increasingly unhappy with the direction the party’s heading.
In a 30-minute video announcing her resignation, Gabbard slammed the Democratic leadership as “an elitist cabal” obsessed with “cowardly wokeness” who inject race into every issue and encourage racism against white people. She also criticized the Dems for being hostile to religious and spiritual people, attacking the police and failing to protect our borders. She called for other moderate Democrats who believe in government of and by the people, instead of by a “powerful elite,” to join her in leaving the party.
When people who wanted to lead the Democratic Party just two years ago can’t bear to stay in it anymore, something has gone badly wrong on America’s Left.
