White House in Trouble After Suspect on Terror Watch List Found at the Border

(RightWing.org) – President Joe Biden started undermining his predecessor’s strict border policies on his first day in office. As a result, the flood of migrants, human traffickers, and drugs into our country has increased to unprecedented levels in the last couple of years. Once again, the White House finds itself in trouble after an individual on the FBI terrorist watchlist attempted to cross the border.

On May 14, Fox News Channel’s Los Angeles correspondent Bill Melugin broke the news that an Afghan national on the FBI’s terrorist watch list attempted to illegally cross the border earlier that day. He reported that several sources with US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) told him the Afghan national crossed into the US with a group of migrants near Otay Mesa, California. The unnamed individuals also said the FBI confirmed the individual’s identification and is leading the investigation.

Melugin reached out to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) for information after officials at the CBP told him they would have to get back to him later. Issa’s office confirmed that border patrol agents arrested the individual.

A couple of hours later, Fox News published an article providing additional details on the incident. CBP agents intercepted the group of migrants at the border and transported them to a processing station. A fingerprint scan of the Afghan national matched an individual listed on the Terrorist Screening Database. Agents placed the suspect under arrest and contacted the FBI.

Rep. Issa issued a fiery statement blasting the White House for the incident. He warned that President Joe Biden’s “reckless” border policy serves as an “open invitation” for the world’s “most wanted terrorists… to come to America.”

San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond echoed the sentiment during an interview with local ABC affiliate, station KGTV. He also noted the incident served as a “stark reminder” of the necessity of “maintaining a strong border,” adding that the presence of an individual on the terror watch list at the border demonstrated the White House’s failure to protect citizens and preserve national security.
