Waffle House CEO Takes Stand Against Lockdown

(RightWing.org) – Waffle House isn’t just one of the South’s most-beloved restaurant chains; it’s also famously well-prepared for storms and other disasters, to the point that FEMA uses the closure of its restaurants to estimate the scale of a crisis. Now the whole US is in a crisis – and Waffle House’s CEO has just announced that his chain won’t be helping liberals make it worse.

In a November 18 interview with Business Insider, waffle supremo Walt Ehmer said the lockdowns earlier this year had a catastrophic effect on his employees, and he’s not going to close his restaurants again unless he’s forced to. As politicians – mainly on the left – push for another round of business closures, Ehmer said, “The only reason we think that we would shut a dining room down at this point is if the local government made us do so.” Right now, only 20 of Waffle House’s 1,920 restaurants are closed, and Ehmer isn’t going to voluntarily close any more.
