(RightWing.org) – As America moves through the crisis created by COVID-19, essential workers are keeping the nation afloat. Among those workers are truckers. They keep our grocery stores stocked and deliver crucial supplies all while dealing with the increased pressures that come from a coronavirus-infected America.
Still, they show up to do their job, unlike Congress.
People showing up to work next week:
– Healthcare professionals
– Grocery store clerks
– Police Officers
– The Senate
People NOT showing up to work next week:
– House Democrats
Tells you all you need to know.

Truckers are dealing with a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep them safe as they make deliveries. Meanwhile, they wash and sanitize their hands as much as possible with limited resources. Food on the road is hard to come by as diners have closed down. Showers and laundry services are still available, although at a drastically diminished capacity. Truck drivers are also regularly screened for COVID-19 to minimize the risk of contamination among other drivers, trucker services, and their freight.
These are just a handful of the hardships truck drivers face during this pandemic.
American truckers keep the country moving, and they’re needed more than ever. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that their already difficult job just got harder. As trucker Bobby Smithson, who’s also a nondenominational Christian minister puts it “Everybody depends on us.”
We certainly do, thank you to all the essential workers who are going above and beyond every day. You truly are heroes!
