(RightWing.org) – In recent months, social media companies have repeatedly censored and “fact-checked” President Donald Trump. GoFundMe suspended conservative Candace Owens’ fundraiser for a business that suffered after its owner spoke out against rioters. Now, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) is accusing Twitter of trying to do the same thing to him.
During an interview with Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” on June 18, Cotton said Twitter threatened to lockdown his account if he “refused to censor” his tweets about “riots and looting.” According to the senator, his office received a call from a Twitter employee who told him to delete his messages or else. He refused and they didn’t do anything.

This is an unprecedented move by Twitter to censor a conservative lawmaker. This only exemplifies the need for Congress to limit the social media giant’s power. It’s ridiculous that they think this behavior is okay in a country that’s based on freedom of speech.
