(RightWing.org) – The White House revealed its latest budget proposal Sunday, showcasing President Trump’s goals for next year. There’s good news for national security, with increases in funding for the military and border defenses, but deep cuts planned for foreign aid and social spending.
The proposals are sure to face tough opposition in the House, where Democrats will try to undo cuts to all their favorite handout programs, but the president is probably pinning his hopes on regaining control of the House later this year. What’s being missed in the discussion over what gets cut and what doesn’t, however, is the ambitious goal behind it all — to eliminate the federal deficit by 2035. President Trump is planning to cut $4.4 trillion in spending over the next decade, putting the nation’s finances back on the road to health.
