(RightWing.org) – President Donald Trump and his administration want to get schools reopened. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos recently said if schools don’t reopen, they might divert those funds to parents to help find other arrangements. Now, Larry Kudlow, a WH economic adviser, said the president may have another idea.
During a July 13 Fox Business interview, Kudlow said President Trump is “willing to consider additional aid” to help get schools back open. The adviser explained the economy isn’t going to recover if kids can’t get back into the classroom.
Kudlow explained staying out of school is bad for children because they need the structure and social support. The American Academy of Pediatrics agrees with the administration on that point. Something else to consider is childcare. Many parents can’t go back to work because they have to stay home with their young children. That puts a strain on the economy.
Getting kids back in the classroom is important for everyone involved, and it’s obviously important to President Trump as well.
