Trump Legal Team Calls for Probe of Voting Software Company

( – Lawyers working for the Trump campaign pushed back against the widespread use of voting machines, which were allegedly rigged to skew the vote count in Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s favor. Donald Trump’s longtime lawyer Rudy Giuliani and attorney Sidney Powell spoke out against the Dominion voting system’s use during separate interviews with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, November 15.

Giuliani called for a national security investigation, telling Bartiromo that Dominion Voting Systems has “close ties with Venezuela” and uses software known to have “stolen elections” in several countries. Watch Giuliani’s segment below:

Meanwhile, Powell directed her anger at CIA Director Gina Haspel, saying she “should be fired” for allowing the software to be used in the presidential election. The system shouldn’t have “been installed anywhere,” she added.

Both Giuliani and Powell told Bartiromo they had evidence and statements from whistleblowers proving Trump opponents used Dominion software to delete “millions” of votes placed for President Trump.

Previous Allegations

Allegations of problems with the Dominion software system aren’t new. For instance, data communication and security experts working for Texas’ Secretary of State and Attorney General rejected the use of the system three times for failing to meet standard security guidelines, beginning in 2013.

London-based AccessWire reported problems with the Dominion subsidiary company Smartmatic in 2017. Likewise, ABS-CBN reported Smartmatic “glitches” led to widespread concerns of voting irregularities during midterm elections in the Philippines in 2010.

Of particular concern to the Trump legal team is the fact the vote counts for several key battleground states in the 2020 presidential election used Dominion’s software. Pennsylvania, Nevada, and North Carolina all used Dominion systems, and Trump lawyers continue disputing the election results in those states. Additionally, both Michigan and Georgia used the system and reported a “glitch” allegedly leading to the reversal of thousands of votes for the president.

President Trump predicted a couple of months ago that the courts would declare the election’s winner. That scenario doesn’t sound particularly far-fetched in light of these allegations by Giuliani and Powell.
