(RightWing.org) – A Democrat who’s openly hostile to former president Donald Trump has announced he’s running for a key state Attorney General post, and his statement makes it clear he’s still obsessed with Trump. Is this really what voters want?
Daniel Goldman, the former federal prosecutor who served as counsel to House Democrats in the first impeachment inquiry against former president Donald Trump, announced today that he will run for attorney general of New York.https://t.co/IWXvFwhtnP

On November 16, former federal prosecutor Daniel Goldman released a video statement declaring his candidacy for New York’s AG race. Goldman was counsel to House Democrats during the first attempt to impeach Trump, and he seems to think he’s still fighting that battle. In his statement, he claimed “democracy is under attack” and said he wants the AG job so he can use the position to fight back.
Goldman declared, “It started with Trump and now continues with Trumpism,” claiming many Americans no longer believe in democracy. In fact, recent polling shows the overwhelming majority of Americans do believe in democracy, and Trump supporters are most worried about threats to it. Regardless, Goldman’s statement shows he’s planning to make the role of AG all about Trump, who isn’t even president anymore. Hopefully New Yorkers agree the job should go to someone more concerned about the issues facing them now rather than refighting past battles.
