(RightWing.org) – After more than five years, it finally happened. Hunter Biden is finally facing criminal charges. On September 14, Special Counsel David C. Weiss filed a true bill of indictment from the Grand Jury for the District of Delaware, charging President Joe Biden’s son with three felonies related to lying about his drug addiction when he purchased a handgun in 2018 and possessing that weapon while using illegal controlled substances. Former President Donald Trump wasted no time blasting the Justice Department over the charges.
Shortly after the news broke, Trump posted a statement to his Truth Social page, calling out federal prosecutors for filing a gun charge against the younger Biden. He noted that the weapons charge was the “only crime… Hunter Biden “committed” that didn’t “implicate” his father, “Crooked Joe Biden.”
The former president sat down for an interview with NBC News host Kristen Welker later that evening. Inevitably, the topic of Biden’s indictment arose. Trump said the Justice Department’s decision to prosecute the First Son didn’t undercut his claim that there are two kinds of justice in America today — one for him and one for allies of the Bidens.

“There’s no question about it,” Trump explained, adding that Biden “had a plea deal… the deal of the century.” Continuing, he called the “art of the deal,” a reference to his New York Times bestseller.
Biden’s plea deal fell apart in late July after US District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika told the parties she needed more information before accepting it. She said the terms of the agreement didn’t appear “straightforward and [contained] atypical provisions.”
Prosecutors later withdrew the agreement, setting the stage for the August appointment of US Attorney David Weiss as a special counsel in the ongoing investigation into Biden’s alleged crimes.
It remains unclear if Weiss will seek an indictment against Hunter Biden on the tax fraud charges included in the earlier plea agreement.
