President Trump’s efforts to secure America are decisive and strategic. His administration’s latest military strike proves that he’s willing to do what’s necessary to secure our present and our future. This event will shape the future going forward in regards to the Middle East.
This week, Trump gave the order to take out Iran’s top military figure Qassem Soleimani.
A missile struck at the Baghdad airport in Iraq just days after militia groups rioted against the country’s US Embassy. The attack also killed two of Iraq’s senior militia officials believed to be working with Soleimani. Soleimani was a revered hero among Iranians and the man responsible for the deaths of countless US soldiers in the Middle East.
Iran’s foreign minister released an intention of retaliation on Twitter.
The US' act of international terrorism, targeting & assassinating General Soleimani—THE most effective force fighting Daesh (ISIS), Al Nusrah, Al Qaeda et al—is extremely dangerous & a foolish escalation.
The US bears responsibility for all consequences of its rogue adventurism.

Leftists believe that this is a blatant act of war. However, if Trump wanted war he could have done something far worse if he so chose. The Trump administration hopes this is the first step to a more peaceful regime change in Iran.
As Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) tweeted:
If President @realDonaldTrump wanted war with Iran there were plenty of other opportunities to do that.
He does not want war with Iran, and neither do I.
The safety and security of Americans was central to the President's thinking. pic.twitter.com/4qweohAytJ
