Tom Cotton: DOJ Targets Parents But Silent on Terror Attack!

( – One would hope the nation’s premier law enforcement agency could walk and chew gum simultaneously. However, as Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) recently pointed out, the Department of Justice seems unable or unwilling to protect Americans from terrorist attacks while supporting the Biden administration’s efforts to throttle free speech.

On December 1, Sen. Cotton penned a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding action regarding the recent mass-murder attack in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Cotton pointed out the alleged perpetrator of the assault on a Christmas parade spent the last couple of decades committing a range of crimes, including “violent and sexual felonies.”

Additionally, he had an established record of sharing anti-Semitic posts on his social media sites and calls for violence against white people. Continuing, Cotton noted police officers arrested the suspect three weeks before the Waukesha attack for reportedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend and running over her with his automobile. So why was he running about freely on bail?

Getting to the heart of the matter, Sen. Cotton pointed out Garland had no problem issuing a memorandum calling on US Attorneys and FBI officials to provide a federal law enforcement presence at local school board meetings.

Cotton demanded to know three things by December 6:

  1. What were DOJ officials doing to investigate the Waukesha incident?
  2. Are Civil Rights Division investigators looking into the suspect’s social media posts?
  3. Has Garland directed US Attorneys and FBI officials to take action on “soft-on-crime” policies?

It’s high time someone held Garland and other administration officials accountable!
