(RightWing.org) – President Trump wants the economy back up and running as soon as possible. He and his task forces are hard at work finalizing a plan to do just that. FEMA and the CDC worked closely with the White House to create this strategy and Trump hopes to complete the details within the next few days. During Tuesday’s press briefing the president announced:
“The plans to reopen the country are close to being finalized.”
FEMA and the CDC are warning of a potential “rebound curve” if things move too quickly, which is why the details are critical.
The plan has several parts, some of which were leaked (remember these are plans are not final and are subject to change):

This reopening plan will operate in three phases:
- Pre-May 1: Prepare the nation for reopening with national communication and assessment campaigns.
- May 1-15: Scale up the production of testing kits and personal protective equipment (PPE) and increase emergency funding.
- Post-May 15: Stagger reopenings depending on local conditions.
There are no hard dates listed to begin local reopenings and states will have the final say, but the preliminary document says “not before May 1.” It also gives guidance to safely move away from near-draconian restrictions like stay-at-home orders. While the plan is still being finalized, it is a light at the end of the tunnel and a reason to be cautiously optimistic.
