The Left Roasted America on Her Birthday

( – Some on the Left took the 4th of July holiday weekend as an opportunity to crash the nation’s birthday party. If that weren’t bad enough, they turned and spat in the cake. What is driving this behavior coming from the American Left? Over the last few decades, Conservatives often stated that they believed the Left hated America. It’s one thing to believe that based on circumstantial evidence. It’s another thing when they brazenly say it themselves — on America’s birthday of all occasions.

Democrats and their friends in the liberal media must have had a miserable 4th of July. Can you imagine those parties? It’s a who’s who of those needing therapy or anger management. Virtually nothing was left unscathed. They denounced the flag, they condemned the Statue of Liberty, and of course, racial division was a favorite topic while they excoriated America’s founding documents. It wasn’t a birthday party. It was an American roast.

America Got Roasted

If you’ve ever watched a celebrity roast on television, you know how downright mean-spirited they can become. Merriam-Webster defines roasting as criticizing someone harshly, angrily or severely. Well, that definition certainly met the Left’s outburst last weekend. Neither the media nor far-left politicians could have been much more vitriolic.

On Saturday, the New York Times suggested the American flag was a symbol of divisiveness. The Washington Post ran an op-ed stating that America’s upcoming 250th birthday would be difficult for many to celebrate. That was just the beginning for the paper that radicalized itself after Trump won in 2016. It published separate articles that said the Declaration of Independence was “a literal list of complaints,” and the Statue of Liberty is unstable in its meaning for immigrants. NPR ripped the Declaration of Independence as flawed with “deeply ingrained hypocrisies.”

It Gets Better…

Far-left Squad member Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) suggested that the 4th of July is a holiday for White people to celebrate their freedoms. She alleged that the “land is stolen and Black people still aren’t free.”

Bush wasn’t alone. Regular American hater Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) struck again. She stated that all men are not equal, as some in Colonial society didn’t see Blacks as people. Therefore, the Declaration of Independence isn’t accurate where Waters is concerned. She injected supposed voter suppression as GOP-led states reform laws in the wake of election problems during the pandemic. The out-of-touch firebrand hit on social justice and policing issues. Waters then wrongly declared the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act.

It used to be that one could get lots of clicks and comments for patriotic sayings on the 4th of July. Now, patriotism risks getting someone labeled as a racist, bigot, or a host of other words. That’s despite America being the most diverse country in the world due to the liberties it affords everyone regardless of race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation.

The sad reality is the Left appears emboldened to undermine America.

The only good thing coming from this is they are exposing themselves. There’s an old saying: It’s better to remain quiet and allow people to believe you’re a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

That about sums up the American Left.
