FBI “DOCTORED” This Memo To The Public… But Now We Know
(RightWing.org) – Michael Sussman, former campaign attorney of Hillary Clinton, was tried and found not guilty of lying to the FBI. An Epoch Times exclusive report, stemming from evidence in the Sussman trial, claims an FBI official emailed Sussman a press release draft regarding the alleged intrusion into the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) back in 2016. It now appears the intelligence agency doctored the memo after Sussman assessed the wording and suggested alterations.
A Questionable Response
The FBI initially prepared a statement to present to the press about the alleged hack into the DCCC. Before publishing it, an official emailed it to Sussman for approval; he read it and suggested a number of changes. The core problem? The final version implied a totally different scenario than the first draft.
Sussman’s Two Cents
In Sussman’s virtual response to the FBI official, he suggested changing a section indicating that the FBI was aware of “a possible cyber intrusion involving the DCCC” to the FBI “is aware of the cyber intrusion involving the DCCC that has been reported in the media and the FBI has been working to determine the nature and scope of the matter.”
The FBI official accepted Sussman’s edits, and soon after this conversation, the bureau issued the press release using the adjusted phrasing. But, did the changes end up altering the underlying message or worse? These email exchanges were presented as exhibits during Sussman’s recent trial.
Possible Connections
Sussman was acquitted on felony charges of lying to the FBI when he told them he wasn’t working for anyone at the time he informed them that Donald Trump and Russia were possibly connected — while working for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. The case against Sussman stemmed directly from the archived emails between the FBI and himself regarding several topics including the FBI press release memo.
Clinton’s Involvement
According to former CIA Director John Brennan’s records, he briefed former President Barack Obama on July 28, 2016. The briefing warned Obama of secret information regarding Russia’s awareness of Clinton’s plan to defame her rival: Trump. That was exactly one day before Sussman’s email exchange with the FBI official.
The CIA notified the FBI of intelligence later that week. It suggested Hillary’s plan was intended “as a means of distracting the public from her use of a private email server.”
Michael Sussman obviously had a strong hand in the content that the FBI disclosed to the public. The behavior of this government agency poses many questions regarding the ethical nature and authenticity of the bureau’s actions. Who, if anyone, was he trying to protect?
