(RightWing.org) – The expectation for people to wear masks in social settings is becoming stronger. In this case, it was strong enough to kick a state representative out of that day’s hearing. In Illinois, Rep. Darren Bailey (R) was voted off the floor 82-27 because he refused to wear a face mask.
GOP Illinois State Rep Darren Bailey has been escorted out of the House of Representatives for not complying with their new rules requiring members wear a face covering. The vote to kick Bailey out of today's meeting was bipartisan

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) called Bailey’s actions “callous disregard for life, callous disregard for people’s health.”
The rule to wear face coverings during congressional proceedings is a new one in Illinois. Bailey wasn’t the only one who initially declined to wear a mask. Although, after some pressure, the rest ultimately gave in and wore one.
Earlier in the month, Bailey called the continued lockdown protocols a sort of “trampling” over the rights of Illinois residents. He even sued Governor Pritzker in late April over the policies. It’s clear that there is considerable division in Illinois, and across the country, over new policies created due to the pandemic.
