State of the Union: Trump Addresses the Nation

( – President Trump’s State of the Union address went off without a hitch — if you don’t count the outright disrespect from certain individuals.

Trump started off by reminding the country of how far we’ve come since 2016. The economy is doing great and other nations are respecting us once again. Unemployment is at a record low, especially among minorities.

The pay for low-income workers has risen by 16% during Trump’s time in the White House. He mentioned that the only way to accomplish these feats was to embrace personal liberty. Trump said, “Socialism destroys nations, but freedom unifies the soul.”

Because education is the foundation of a productive nation, the president also unveiled his plans to help the younger generations afford that education. Trump’s plans include funding of historically black colleges and universities to help disenfranchised communities. He took care to remind America of the First Step Act, which addresses the unequal treatment of African-Americans for non-violent marijuana crimes.

Trump awarded conservative talk radio host, Rush Limbaugh, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which Melania placed on him during the speech.

He also promised to never let socialism destroy America’s great healthcare system.

Pelosi Shows Her True Character

Of course, the event wouldn’t have been complete without House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) showing her typical lack of class and extreme disrespect for President Trump. When making her introduction, she left out the traditional phrasing of “it’s my high honor and privilege” saying simply, “I present the President of the United States.” While she claims it was not a snub, it is painfully obvious that it was.

Then, to top it all off, at the end of the night she ripped up her copy of the president’s speech during the final ovation. It’s too bad she’s such a sore loser.
