(RightWing.org) – Fox News personality Sean Hannity recently discussed the House Judiciary’s Oversight hearing of the FBI held on Wednesday, July 12. During the prologue to his show, Hannity lamented that FBI Director Christopher Wray and former Director James Comey had transformed “the premier law enforcement agency” into nothing less than an “arm of the Democratic party.”
Hannity’s Prologue Allegations
The Fox News host went on to describe how he believed that Wray and Comey had politicized and weaponized the bureau from the top down, using political bias to steer agendas. He accused the FBI of rigging the last two presidential elections.
In 2016, Hannity pointed out that Comey chose not to raid Hillary Clinton’s home to find mishandled top-secret classified information on her email servers despite the fact that she destroyed data and devices, depriving investigators of potential evidence. Yet, Comey claimed no reasonable prosecutor would pursue the case.
At that same time, Hannity said FBI investigators were already beginning to look into the campaign of Donald Trump based on flimsy, unsubstantiated, hearsay evidence provided by a third party. He reminded his viewers how the FBI used information from the Steele dossier to obtain FISA warrants. The Russian collusion narrative continued throughout Trump’s presidency.
Hannity said that in 2020, under Wray’s leadership, the bureau pre-conditioned social media and news outlets with a false narrative about Russian disinformation and the election. Hannity accused the FBI of suppressing and covering up the Hunter Biden laptop scandal at a critical point in the election cycle. Moreover, he mentioned the recent court ruling that pointed out the bureau’s failure to disclose the truth about Hunter Biden’s laptop to social media and mainstream media.
Ongoing and Recent Allegations
Once Hannity got into the meat of his program on July 12, he brought up censorship and restriction issues that the FBI took great interest in before, during, and after the 2020 election. He pointed to PTAs and parent rights groups throughout the nation who came under scrutiny after parents expressed concerns about issues like Critical Race Theory, age-appropriate gender studies, social distancing, and mask-wearing.
The host talked about how the National School Board Association wrote to Attorney General Merrick Garland asking him to designate outspoken parents at school board meetings as terrorists. And Garland had Wray create a dedicated “snitch line” and tag parents as threats in the system.
Hannity also spoke about the FBI SWAT team arrest of Mark Houck, a pro-life activist, at his home in front of his wife and seven children. Houck had offered to come to a local FBI office for questioning after an incident where he defended his son from an angry pro-choice protester while he and his son prayed in front of an abortion clinic.
The host praised the work Representatives Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) were doing through the Judiciary Committee but opined that Congress should go further and fire Wray.
