Russian Special Forces Catch Ukrainians Who Tortured Troops

(RightWing.org) – The media has devoted substantial time reporting alleged war crimes committed in Ukraine by Russian troops. However, news outlets have remained relatively silent about reported atrocities committed by Ukrainians. All that changed over the weekend in light of stunning videos of Ukrainian soldiers allegedly assaulting Russian prisoners.

On Sunday, March 27, Moscow-based political commentator and independent journalist Maria Dubovikova posted videos on her Twitter account, reportedly showing Ukrainian military troops torturing captured Russian prisoners of war (POWs).

Dubovikova’s clips received a combined total of more than 3.5 million views and appeared to capture the attention of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. One of his advisors followed up on the viral posts about 14 hours later by releasing a video reminding Ukrainian soldiers to adhere to the Geneva Convention’s guidelines regarding prisoner treatment.

Then, on March 29, the Russian news agency Tass reported that the deputy chair of Russia’s lower house, the State Duma, confirmed that Russian commandos captured two of the Ukrainians responsible for the torture of Russian POWs.

Shamanov told fellow lawmakers it only took the Russian special operations troops three days after the release of the dramatic videos to “apprehend [those] freaks… [T]hey are crawling at our feet [and] asking for mercy.”

What do you think about allegations of war crimes in Ukraine?
