(RightWing.org) – Florida’s Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, isn’t afraid of taking on big challenges. He’s recently taken on vaccine passports, social media censorship, and cruise line vaccine requirements and won. Most recently, he’s taken on the task of maintaining Florida’s long-standing reputation as a military-friendly state.
On June 4, DeSantis signed three bills designed to strengthen Florida’s commitment to supporting military members, veterans, and their families.
As Governor, I am dedicated to maintaining Florida’s reputation as the most military and veteran-friendly state in our nation. The Florida Leads Budget provides $28 million for Florida defense infrastructure and Florida’s military families.https://t.co/TbMthYgPHA pic.twitter.com/0igugqBgEQ

These bills will help service members and their families.
The Purple Star Campus Program helps identify schools that support the children of service members and offers them additional resources to support needs unique to them. The Veterans Employment and Training bill supports veterans through programs like apprenticeships, fellowships, and intern programs. The Veterans’ Preference in Employment bill provides enhanced hiring preference for eligible service members, veterans, and family members.
As DeSantis stated at the signing ceremony, Florida is “the most military and veteran-friendly state” in the country.
