(RightWing.org) – On Friday, October 2, President Trump was airlifted to Walter Reed hospital. Earlier in the day, the president announced he contracted COVID-19, and his doctors determined, out of precaution, it was wise to have the best medical care on standby should it be needed. Democrats tried to balance expressing sympathy and blaming Trump for getting the disease.
Unfortunately, on Friday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) just couldn’t help herself. She said Trump’s activities were “a brazen invitation for something like this to happen.” She added that despite all the protections the presidency affords Trump, perhaps it’s a learning lesson for the country.

On Sunday morning, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said Pelosi’s statement was “rather disgusting.” The leader said it wasn’t a time for that kind of rhetoric as the nation was being watched by the world, especially as Trump is still trying to get a COVID-19 relief package passed.
Even during a time of well-wishing, Democrats can’t help but take digs at the president. While it may help them rally their base, will it impact independents in Congressional races next month?
We’re all going to find out soon enough.
