Here’s the Background Story:
Many of America’s historic settlers originally came from Great Britain. Fast forward nearly 250 years later and each country is distinctly different, although we’re still kindred spirits in a way. In fact, America and Great Britain share enough similarities to allow us to draw parallels between our two powerful nations.
Here Are the Contributing Factors:
British lawmakers have overwhelmingly rejected their Prime MInister’s “Brexit” plan. It was voted for by the people, and Theresa May has done everything in her power to prepare Great Britain for exiting the European Union. It’s easy to see how Britain’s democratic process is being threatened by politicians.
Theresa’s Brexit strategy lost by a massive 230 votes. The Parliament’s scales haven’t tipped that far in one direction in almost 100 years. Additionally, they’re talking about having a vote of confidence on Theresa May’s leadership. They could even hold a general election to replace her if she fails the test.
Trump hasn’t always seen eye-to-eye with May, but both of them seem to be walking down a similar path. Trump’s integrity as president is being questioned but he has the support of the people. He promised us a wall; yet, it seems as if Congress continues to get in the way of what Americans want.
