(RightWing.org) – Donald Trump has spoken out against the presidential election system for years, claiming the process was skewed against him. Lawyers working for his campaign have several lawsuits pending in key battleground states alleging voting irregularities. Amid all this chaos, it appears a majority of Republicans agree with the president.
A new Reuters/Ipsos poll showed 68% of Republicans expressed concern that the election was stolen from President Trump. Roughly 33% of Independents and 16% of Democrats voter fraud skewed the results in Democratic hopeful Joe Biden’s favor.
About half of all Republicans believe President Donald Trump 'rightfully won' the U.S. election but that it was stolen from him by widespread voter fraud that favored Democratic President-elect Joe Biden, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll. https://t.co/Ya7kX95sDN pic.twitter.com/tiLEkQPUOO

Overall, more than 70% of the individuals polled believed Biden won the election, and about 5% thought the president did. However, asked whether Biden “rightfully” beat Trump, less than 30% of Republicans agreed, while 52% thought the president “rightfully won” the election.
Of particular note, confidence in election results has declined since the last presidential election. Only about 55% of American adults said they thought the 2020 presidential election was “legitimate” compared to 62% after the 2016 election.
