Here’s the Background Story:
Immigration has gotten so out of hand that the government has shut down as a result of indecision as to how to fix the problem. And while not all immigrants are criminals and many of them really do come here in search of a better life, we still need to keep our country safe. Is the answer more laws on immigration?
Here Are the Contributing Factors:
If you scroll through just about any social media site, you’ll see arguments on both sides. You’ll also see concerns that current immigration policies are costing us billions and “causing the deaths of immigrants,” but that’s like saying if someone breaks into your house, it’s your fault the glass from the window they broke cut them.
You’ll also see countless posts about respected members of US communities being deported after having been here for decades. While the Left is screaming about the injustice of those events, the Right often poses an all-too-obvious question “If they were here so long, why didn’t they go through the citizenship process?” And yet, here we are, still wondering what the solution is.
Let’s be clear. No one wants the deaths of immigrants. And yet, no one wants to see the unhealthy and sometimes dangerous results that come with not properly vetting them. Our ancestors went through the process in times when the world was a much more difficult place to live in; why should others not also go through the process today?

But is the answer more immigration laws? We want to hear what you think. In the meantime, be sure to promote reason and common sense above name calling and fruitless arguments. Sometimes, even the people who were born and raised here don’t seem to understand the intricacies of the English language. Don’t let yourself be pulled into such pointless conversations.
