(RightWing.org) – Surgeon General Jerome Adams issued a warning Sunday: what he called “our Pearl Harbor moment” is approaching fast. Talking to Fox News, Adams said this would be the “hardest and saddest week of most Americans’ lives” as he predicted that the worst of the outbreak is still to come – and will be upon us soon.

It wasn’t all bad news, though. Adams also said despite the disastrous infection rates seen in China and Italy, the US had the power to achieve a better outcome. An aggressive response could mean a shorter epidemic here, if everyone plays a role.
He further said that if everyone sticks to the president’s social distancing guidelines for the next 30 days, the worst of the epidemic could be over in a few weeks. Although nine states haven’t issued shelter-in-place orders yet, Adams urged all Americans to “give us what you can” to get over the peak of the crisis.
