Orbán Tells Carlson the US Needs to Call Back Trump

(RightWing.org) – Nobody expected the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine to last very long. In the first week of February 2022, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Gen. Mark Milley told lawmakers that if President Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Kyiv would fall within less than 72 hours. Yet, here we are — more than a year-and-a-half later, and the war rages on with no end in sight.

Former President Donald Trump has spoken out against both the war and the Biden administration’s handling of the matter for months. In fact, he has consistently maintained that he could end the conflict within 24 hours given the opportunity.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán recently pressed Western allies to strike a “deal” with Putin and suggested the alliance enlist the assistance of the man behind the “Art of the Deal” — Donald Trump.

Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán Says US Needs Trump Back in Office

Carlson posted the 20th episode of his new “Tucker on X” program on X, the website formally known as Twitter, on August 29. This show featured an in-depth interview with Orbán, recently taped in Budapest.

The longstanding Hungarian leader told Carlson that all the talk about Kyiv’s victory over Moscow wasn’t “just a misunderstanding” of sorts. “It is a lie,” he proclaimed. “It’s impossible,” he added.

Orbán explained that Putin had far too many troops to suffer a defeat at the hands of Ukraine. He told Carlson that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would run out of soldiers long before troop strength would become an issue for the Russians.

Continuing, Orbán related that NATO “missed [a] historic opportunity” by failing to accept Ukraine into the alliance before the conflict. However, that opportunity has passed, “It is not a realistic [option] at this moment,” he explained.

Carlson asked Orbán what he would do about the drawn-out conflict if he were President Joe Biden. That’s when Orbán dropped his bomb.

“Call back Trump,” the Hungarian leader declared.

Orbán readily conceded that one could criticize some of the former president’s decisions. However, he pointed out that Trump operated “the best foreign policy of the [past] several decades.”

The prime minister stressed that Trump established and maintained friendly relations with China, Russia, and North Korea during his first term and avoided starting any wars. He also theorized that had Trump been in office for a second term, Putin never would have sent troops into Ukraine.

Orbán concluded his remarks by declaring that truth could “save the Western world.”
