Nunes Slams “Tech Tyrants”

Nunes Slams

( – Representative Devin Nunes (R-CA) blasted the major social media platforms Sunday, calling them “tech tyrants” and condemning the way they censor conservative opinions. Singling out three companies for criticism – Twitter, Google and Facebook – Nunes said the leading tech companies have huge control over what content users get to see, and as a result, they’re slanting things in a left-leaning direction.

Nunes says with 92% of searches going through Google, the tech giant has enough control of what news people see that it’s gaining real influence over what people think. He also criticized Twitter and Facebook for silencing Conservatives or even actively driving them off the platforms. Nunes has recently become a vocal advocate for more free speech-oriented platforms like Parler.

Right now the law on social media is poorly written and gives them a legal screen for censorship. However, in a rare display of agreement, both President Trump and Joe Biden have criticized Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act, and there’s growing pressure to reform it.
