New York to Require Vaccine Passport for Travel

( – Investigators have launched probes into Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s reportedly botched handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and multiple allegations of sexual harassment. Instead of heeding the bipartisan call for his resignation, he has found a new way to harass New Yorkers.

On Friday, March 25, Cuomo announced the launch of a so-called “voluntary” platform developed with IBM that uses emerging secure technology to store data confirming a person’s proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a recent negative antigen or PCR test result.

Users of the Excelsior Pass system can either print out their pass or store it on their smartphone using a secure QR code. Participating businesses and venues can scan that code to confirm proof of vaccination or a recent negative test before allowing individuals to enter their establishments.

So, while the program is billed as voluntary, individuals opting not to use the system will likely end up being denied entry into restaurants and other businesses in the not-so-distant future. Welcome to Gov. Cuomo’s vision of Amerika!
