(RightWing.org) – New York has been one of the major hotspots of COVID-19 since the early days of the outbreak in the US. It’s come a long way, and now the state is ready to start re-opening its economy. Half of the 10 regions in New York were slated to come back online Friday, May 15.
The Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, Mohawk Valley, the North Country, and Central NY are ready to begin Phase 1 of reopening tomorrow.
The others can be UN-PAUSED the moment they hit their benchmarks.

Up until this point, it’s been exceedingly difficult for New York State citizens to live a normal life. The tensions between Governor Cuomo and President Donald Trump haven’t helped their morale, either. Still, better late than never seems to apply here, and at least half of the state is ready to come back online. The remaining five regions haven’t yet met the seven health benchmarks set forth by Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D).
Including in the re-opening plan are beaches in four states in the area.

Beaches in the four states can open at the start of Memorial Day weekend given a few conditions. Visitors must wear face masks when social distancing isn’t possible, and the beaches must remain at 50% capacity. Large group gatherings and contact activities, including sports, are prohibited.
Summer break and a normal life finally seem possible for Americans on the East Coast.
