(RightWing.org) – President Trump announced his release of a series of policies aimed at eliminating discriminatory practices against religious organizations.
Previously, Obama-era policies had set undue restrictions on religious entities — including schools and churches — receiving taxpayer funds. Those policies gave unfair advantages to secular organizations when it came to receiving federal dollars. All President Trump is doing is evening the playing field between religious and non-religious organizations.
This announcement came on National Religious Freedom Day.
As part of the First Amendment, the right to religious freedom is one of the most essential aspects of living in America.
On National Religious Freedom Day, the President upheld one of the fundamental rights of the first amendment: "In America, you don’t lose your religious freedom when you step from the street into the classroom."https://t.co/TkT7Z9Qsjo

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) proposed a measure stating government organizations can’t use religion as a determining factor when it comes to federal funding. Russ Vought, acting director of the OMB, gave a statement regarding the new ruling.
“President Trump and this Administration are committed to religious freedom for every American… Today, through policy guidance, we are reaffirming that faith-based organizations should be treated the same as secular organizations and that children in school are able to pray as they see fit, without repercussion from those in authority over them. We believe the constitution makes clear that as Americans, we don’t have to leave our faith at the door of our home.”
Thank you, President Trump, for continuing to support religious liberty in America!
