(RightWing.org) – One of the most senior Democrats in Congress took a heavy blow to her authority on Wednesday when Moderates in her own party rebelled against the Biden administration’s bloated spending plans.

With many Americans driven into bankruptcy every year by the cost of healthcare, cutting drug prices is one thing the federal government really needs to do. Former President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning drug companies from charging Americans higher prices than other countries but ran into strong opposition from the industry.
Now, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been working on a bill she says will bring prices down, but some Democrats think it’s just a front for even more government spending. As well as the drug price legislation, Pelosi’s bill also authorized funding that would help pay for the massive $3.5 trillion spending bill President Biden is trying to push through. That turned out to be a step too far for Representatives Kurt Schrader (D-OR), Scott Peters (D-CA) and Kathleen Rice (D-NY); they voted with Republicans to kill the bill in committee.
Predictably, the left of the party turned on the three furiously, accusing them of “prioritizing drug company profits.” But the truth is, Moderate Dems are standing up to the far-left of their party, and some of them have had enough.
