(RightWing.org) – Special Prosecutor John Durham filed a 27-page indictment against Michael A. Sussmann on September 16, 2021. The one-count indictment alleged Sussmann falsely told the FBI he wasn’t acting on behalf of clients when he conveyed information regarding allegations against Donald Trump in 2016 when, in fact, he was representing an unnamed “tech executive… and the Clinton Campaign.” On April 6, 2022, Durham filed for a court order to compel the production of documents related to the case, sparking a wave of recent filings by the Clinton Campaign and others.
On April 19, attorneys representing several parties filed notices of appearance and requests to intervene in the case as part of an effort to block the release of documents. Their client list reads like a who’s who of individuals reportedly involved in promoting allegations that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election. Their clients include Hillary for America, Fusion GPS, Perkins COIE LLP, and the Democratic National Committee.
"Based on the coordinated filings, it appears that a large number of important people associated with the Clinton campaign are very concerned about the information in those emails becoming public."

The attorneys are claiming attorney-client privilege, and attorney-work-product protection, bars the release of the requested documents for an in-camera review by the court.
However, Just the News spoke with several legal experts who claim the new filings are part of an effort to throw Sussmann under the bus by obstructing the release of damaging evidence potentially implicating them in his alleged illegal conduct.

For instance, former House Intelligence Committee chief investigator Kash Patel said the attorneys are invoking false privilege claims to conceal evidence of their “wrongdoing.” Patel also noted that he thinks their efforts are leaving Sussmann in the position of taking most of the blame for initiating the Russia hoax.
The court hasn’t set a date yet for a hearing on the attorneys’ requests. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
