Melania Continues COVID-19 Outreach

( – First Lady Melania Trump has engaged with various outreach projects during her time in the White House, but she still prefers to keep a lower profile compared to her husband and some former first ladies, even when she does something special.

In a quiet move this past week, the First Lady sent care packages to hospitals in 10 states that are in the thick of the COVID-19 fight.

The packages included items for medical personnel and pediatric patients. Items such as books, stickers and games for children recovering from the coronavirus reinforce her ongoing commitment to America’s children. The care packages also contained tote bags, blankets and caps. In her typical understated style, the donations didn’t come with a media frenzy of fanfare and photo ops. The hospitals were not named and a short statement was released to the press. In it, the First Lady said:

“The medical community has gone above and beyond to protect the health of the American People” and that the packages are “just a small token of my appreciation for their courage and leadership in this time of need.”

This is just the latest in a long line of supportive statements the FLOTUS has made on social media.

Melania joined the nation in thanking our essential workers who keep America running during this pandemic.

The FLOTUS also stressed the importance of the CDC’s recommendation to wear face masks in public in order to keep everyone safer.

Melania also paid special attention to seniors who are among the most vulnerable populations.

While President Donald Trump really can’t avoid being political at all times, Melania has been graciously apolitical. She cares for the people of the country more than sending a message. Although much of the media’s focus is on her husband, Melania continues to connect with Americans regardless of political affiliation.
