Marjorie Taylor Greene Requests Impeachment of FBI Director

(RightWing.org) – Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has targeted critical elements of the Deep State since she took office in January 2021. For instance, she introduced articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden for abusing his power by “enabling bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors” during her first month on the job. Likewise, she co-sponsored a similar bill to oust Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas seven months later. Most recently, the conservative firebrand requested the impeachment of FBI Director Chris Wray, among others.

On May 16, Greene issued a press release announcing her introduction of articles of impeachment against Director Wray. She wrote that the FBI had been intimidating, harassing, and entrapping Americans “under Wray’s watch,” effectively turning the bureau into a personal policing agency for Attorney General Merrick Garland and the president.

Greene continued to detail several examples of the FBI’s “unprecedented use of “Soviet-style tactics… against normal Americans,” using information gleaned from two whistleblowers.

  1. Garret O’Boyle: Greene explained that he alleged the FBI created a special terrorist designation following the Supreme Court’s recent decision overturning Roe v. Wade and returning the matter of abortions to the states. According to her, he confirmed the bureau created the label to “target” opponents of the procedure like Mark Houck, a pro-life Catholic.
  2. Kyle Seraphin: Similarly, Seraphin reportedly obtained a leaked document from the FBI discussing ongoing efforts to protect abortion rights advocates from so-called “Radical-Traditionalist Catholics” and the dubiously labeled “Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists.” Alarmingly, the record detailed the bureau’s plan to install informants within the Catholic Church, motivated by advice from the Southern Poverty Law Center.

It remains unclear if Greene can gather enough support for the measure’s passage in the House, with Republicans holding only a slim majority in the chamber. Additionally, Wray’s ouster is unlikely to pass in the Democratic-led Senate.

Greene also introduced articles of impeachment against several other Biden administration officials this week, including Attorney General Merrick Garland, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and the US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Matthew Graves.
