Liz Cheney's Husband Secretly Tied to Communist China Financially

( – A renegade Republican lawmaker has been demanding the US stand up to the threat of communist China – while at the same time her husband’s law firm is working for companies connected to the repressive state’s security forces.

In September 2020, Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) presented the report of the House China Task Force, on which she sits. The report paints a chilling picture of Beijing’s growing military and economic power, and Cheney – a persistent critic of former President Donald Trump – called on the US to stand up to the “generational threat” China poses to our way of life.

Unfortunately, Cheney’s anti-China rhetoric would be much more convincing if her husband’s firm wasn’t helping China expand. It’s now emerged that Latham and Watkins (LW), where Cheney’s husband, Philip Perry is a partner, has carried out legal and lobbying work for multiple state-owned Chinese companies, including those with military links. While Cheney was working on the report, LW worked on a merger between two Chinese artificial intelligence companies – part of the Communist Party’s plan to develop smart weapons.

There’s no suggestion Perry worked on Chinese projects himself, but he earns money from everything the firm does as a partner. It’s disturbing finding the US political establishment has these kinds of financial ties to a country that’s a competitor at the very least but is more likely an adversary.
