(RightWing.org) – A senior Democrat councilman has stunned his local party by endorsing President Trump just days before the election. Maurice Davis, vice president of the Flint, MI, city council, made the shocking announcement on October 28 at a rally led by Vice President Pence. Speaking to the crowd before Pence gave his speech, Davis raised cheers from the assembled Republicans with a fiery denunciation of the party he’s supported for decades.
Saying that he’d voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, Davis slammed the narrative that the president is full of hate. “Let me tell you something,” he said, “The Democrats are full of hate.” Following Davis’s speech, the president sent a tweet thanking him for his intervention.

Davis has been slowly drifting away from the left for a couple of years now. He’s already survived two recall attempts launched by local Dem activists. Now, he’s made his decision to back President Trump. How many more Democrats will follow him next Tuesday?
