(RightWing.org) – Joe Biden has claimed that, as president, he’ll “defeat” the National Rifle Association (NRA). The boast marks a hardening of Biden’s previous less extreme position on gun control, signaling that the left is already taking over the agenda for a Biden administration.
Answering a question about gun control from former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D) on January 8, Biden pledged to “defeat the NRA and end our epidemic of gun violence.” Biden’s website already boasts, “Joe Biden has taken on the National Rifle Association (NRA) on the national stage and won – twice.” It’s clear the former vice president sees the pro-Second Amendment group as an enemy rather than an organization dedicated to protecting constitutional rights.

Biden’s website threatens a ban on sales of modern sporting rifles and standard magazines, the reclassification of existing semi-automatic rifles under the National Firearms Act and limiting Americans to buying one gun per month. He also wants to hugely extend the list of people who are barred from owning guns. He obviously sees the NRA as an obstacle to this assault on gun rights, and he’s gearing up to clear the road.
