(RightWing.org) – A rearrangement of House Republicans will now help protect President Trump and provide more balance into any investigations into the White House that Democrats may want to pursue.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) will replace Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) as the top Republican in the House Judiciary Committee. Collins may soon be exiting the House to take over Sen. Kelly Loeffler’s (R-GA) spot in the Senate as he campaigns against her. Loeffler, a Senate freshman, originally took over Johnny Isakson’s seat when he was forced to retire due to health issues.
With Jordan’s move to the House Judiciary Committee, his spot on the House Oversight Committee would be left open. Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) will be tapped to fill that vacancy.
While the shuffle is a bit convoluted, it seems to be centered around a strategy to ensure that Democrats don’t abuse their power. Given the whole impeachment scandal, Dems got away with more than they should have. Now, the more radical Congressional Democrats should be easier to keep at bay.
