UAW members have been striking against GM for just over a month. Somehow, GM employees weren’t happy with the new lavish four-year contracts they were offered. So, they took to the picket lines and have remained there, costing GM millions in lost revenue.
Thankfully, American auto plants should be operational soon with union negotiations appearing to conclude within a few days.

Details on the new contract and benefits its offers are currently unknown. We can expect to see UAW workers receive a bigger raise and lump sum payment among other bonuses. There may be an easier path for temp workers to become full time as well.
Autoworkers are already among the best compensated employees in the country. But, apparently going on strike for a month allows you to fatten your own wallet at your employer’s expense.
