(RightWing.org) – Tax day is right around the corner, and many Americans have questions regarding filing their annual returns. Fortunately, the IRS offers walk-in services at Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) the second Saturday of the month, through May.
If you want to mark your calendars, the IRS will host its “Face-to-Face Saturday Help” assistance from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on the following dates:
- March 12
- April 9
- May 14

You can visit the IRS website for information regarding locations. Before making plans to visit a hosting site, please note the IRS follows the CDC’s current social distancing guidelines. On the plus side, most states have already lifted mask mandates, so you can leave those at home if yours no longer requires them.
The IRS doesn’t offer tax return preparation services, but the TACs offer various other services during their Saturday events. For instance, attendees can renew their taxpayer ID numbers, make tax payments, set up direct deposits for refunds, obtain transcripts and forms, and several other tax-related services.
Be sure to come prepared. Make sure you bring your government-issued identification card, social security cards for yourself and any family members on your return, and any relevant documents and letters from the IRS if you have any questions. Likewise, bring your banking information if you plan to set up payments or direct deposit for refunds.
