(RightWing.org) – The prestigious international brokerage firm Saxo Bank recently released its “outrageous predictions” report for 2022. Of particular concern is the firm’s claim a new cold war could develop in 2022 due to the recent rise of a hypersonic arms race pitting the US against other world powers like China.
According to a subsection of Saxo’s December 2 report, the recent rise of hypersonic technology, coupled with China’s recent test of a hypersonic weapon system, has created a high-tech race to dominate space. Equally concerning is Saxo’s prediction other powers will join the space race, including members of the European Union, India, Israel, and Russia.
Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, recently remarked China’s test mirrored the Soviet’s development of its Sputnik satellites in the late 1950s.
Saxo reported the former Soviet Union’s development of advanced rockets led to one of the most “iconic” moments of the decades-long cold war rivalry held between the United States and the USSR.
Fortunately, former President Donald Trump appeared to anticipate the rise of space warfare. As a result, he established the United States Space Force in late 2019 to address the challenges of providing for America’s security from space-based weapons systems.
Hopefully, President Joe Biden can set aside his ego and embrace and build upon Trump’s “America First” policies.
