(RightWing.org) – Many people wondered why Hunter Biden’s legal troubles didn’t get much coverage during last year’s election campaign. Most of them figured it was just the mainstream media doing their best to cover up a Democrat scandal, as usual, and there was certainly a lot of that. However, it now turns out to be only part of the story. Our legal system was covering it up, too.

On July 16, investigative journalism site Politico reported federal officials investigating the president’s son last summer had persuaded Delaware’s US Attorney to hide the probe from the public. An insider admitted officials didn’t want to take high-profile actions, like issuing search warrants and grand jury subpoenas, during the campaign should scandals about his son’s business dealings become an issue for the Biden campaign.
Now, the US Attorney, David Weiss, is in an awkward position. A Trump appointee, he’s trying to investigate the president’s son in a state with a famously tight-knit political culture. The “Delaware Way,” regularly praised by Biden as a model of consensual politics, is also known for its nepotism and corruption, and Weiss will have to tread carefully. Some Republicans are already calling for a special prosecutor to protect him from the Biden administration while he completes his investigation. Delaware officials have already held back the inquiry to help Biden’s election campaign; what will they do next?
