This Google Search Just SKYROCKETED 220% – Why?

(RightWing.org) – The price of automobiles typically rises with increased demand and decreased supplies. It’s the name of the game regarding the cost of any product or service. With that in mind, it appears the rising prices of used automobiles throughout 2021 and the first part of 2022 may be coming to an abrupt end. An analysis of recent Google searches related to people selling their automobiles skyrocketed, indicating the market could soon be flooded with used vehicles.

The online marketplace, findthebestcarprice.com, studied data related to recent Google searches using the keyword phrase “sell my car.” The site found that searches increased by a historic 222% in recent weeks. In the last week of August alone, the inquiries rose by an unprecedented 177% and ramped up an additional 15% the next four days.

The 10 states with the highest number of search queries included Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas.

Some analysts attribute the increased search volume to the unprecedented rise in inflation and the national unemployment rate. An August 29 article by CNBC noted economist Stephen Roach advised the US would need something akin to a “miracle” to avoid a recession.
