(RightWing.org) – So far it looks like we’re heading for a re-run of the 2020 presidential election. Former President Donald Trump has no serious rivals for the 2024 GOP nomination, and President Biden looks equally likely to be the Democrat candidate. Of course, Biden has an advantage — it looks like Google might be hiding all his rivals’ campaign websites.
On August 30, the Media Research Center (MRC) reported that they had carried out Google searches for next year’s presidential hopefuls. It’s clear that the search engine giant is systematically suppressing any Democrat who might seriously challenge Biden for his party’s nomination, and of course, they’re suppressing all the Republican candidates too.
The MRC, a conservative watchdog group that focuses on political bias in the media, searched for “presidential campaign websites” to see what popped up on the first page. Not one GOP candidate appeared on the list, but President Biden’s campaign was the second result. In fifth place was the website for Marianne Williamson, the charity worker and author who is polling in last place among Democrat candidates; second-placed Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was, like the GOP candidates, nowhere to be seen.
Google might not want to highlight any candidate who has a realistic chance of replacing Biden in the Oval Office, but their algorithm is happy to stuff the first page with old websites. No less than three 2020 Democrat campaign pages appear on it — Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Hillary Clinton.
MRC vice president Dan Schneider said “Google has erased every threat to Joe Biden” and added that the company has “continued to interfere in our elections” since its attempts to get Clinton elected in 2016. The MRC has also highlighted multiple other examples of Google’s search results favoring Democrats while hiding Republican candidates.
