Ocasio-Cortez A Fake? – Democrat Insider Reveals Her Big Weakness
(RightWing.org) – Former New York Gov. David Paterson (D) is known for his inclusive approach to politics and ability to work with his Republican counterparts. He left the political arena in late 2015 after announcing his resignation as the chairman of the New York Democratic Party. However, he recently stepped back into the fray to offer his opinion on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) (D-NY), calling her a “media sensation.”
On July 3, Paterson sat down for an in-depth interview with conservative radio host John Catsimatidis. Naturally, the topic of New York’s recent primary elections arose, and the former governor didn’t hold anything back regarding his opinion of Ocasio-Cortez.
Referring to her nickname, he said that AOC is “just three letters of the alphabet,” adding that her relevancy as a politician was a creation of news outlets. She’s a “phantom of the media,” he explained.

Paterson backed up his claim by pointing to New York’s July 5 primaries. A solid majority of the so-call progressive, left-wing candidates lost their bids to more center-left Democrats.
Continuing, he explained that several of the leftist candidates endorsed by AOC fell into the loser’s column, including three New York state assembly hopefuls who were all defeated by moderate Democrats.
Paterson also minimized the relevance of AOC’s June 2018 defeat of long-standing incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY). He attributed her primary victory to Crowley’s absence from his district, saying she “outworked him” on the campaign trail. Then, the media created the mythological tale of her political importance.
Do you agree with Paterson’s take on AOC? Is her relevance limited to her Twitter account and pumped up by mainstream media bias?
