Another one of President Trump’s cabinet members leaves the White House as Rick Perry has just announced his resignation as Secretary of Energy. Though his resignation was expected for several weeks following the manufactured Ukraine scandal, Perry is leaving the administration in good spirits. His exact date of departure is unknown, but it will be before the end of 2019.
Perry’s farewell video below captures his fondest memories and sentiments about his time as Secretary of Energy.
Serving as Secretary of @ENERGY under @realDonaldTrump has been the honor of a lifetime. Today the U.S. leads the world in energy production, we launched AI & Cyber Security Offices, & made environmental progress unseen for decades cleaning up the legacy of the Manhattan Project. pic.twitter.com/ZWZer3yMHy

Rick Perry has helped Trump enact a policy of “energy dominance” where America is a net exporter to the rest of the world. Production of fossil fuels took a sharp turn upward under Perry’s oversight. He even dubbed natural gas as “freedom gas” as part of a highly-successful branding campaign.
Thank you, Rick Perry, for helping Trump create the best version of America possible!
